Centre County PAWS, a nonprofit, non-euthanizing animal shelter, will have its fourth annual Centre County PAWS Extravaganza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Penn State Agricultural Arena.
"We just want to make students and the people of State College aware that we're here," said PAWS volunteer Jackie Killian.
Admission is free, and pet owners can bring their pets in carriers or on leashes if they bring proof of vaccination. There will be clinics throughout the day, including a rabies clinic from noon to 2 p.m., where animals can be vaccinated for $5.
There will also be a microchip clinic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., where for $20, owners can have their pet fitted with a chip to help locate it, if it is lost. At the grooming clinic, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., owners can have their pets brushed or their nails clipped for $5. Dogs and cats can be adopted during the event.
