Expect to be heckled when visiting the Vet
In response to Jayme Scrudders's Oct. 24 letter, "Philadelphia stadium really not so brotherly": Ms. Scrudders, you explained that you were constantly harassed while you attended the Eagles-Bucs game recently at The Vet since you wore Bucs gear. Well, what were you expecting? A long, red welcome mat for Bucs fans? Being hassled is part of the experience if you choose to cheer for the away team in a stadium. Especially The Vet. Sure, my fellow Eagles fans may take it to the extreme, but that's how we show support for our team. If you don't like the way we support our team, don't come back to our stadium. You need to understand most of the guys who go to Eagles games live for football. They go down and tailgate for hours before kickoff. They have plenty of time to get fired up and ready for the games. They want to support their team in any way possible. If that means hassling the away teams' fans, that's what they'll do. Anything they think will help the Eagles win the game. I hate to bring up an old cliche, but "if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen." Also, if you think you had it bad, it would have been 10 times worse for you, if you had showed up in Cowboys gear, despite the fact that the Eagles weren't even playing the Cowboys. Ask anyone from Philly, if you don't believe me. Dan Pawlikowski
