USG should support state grant program

I was pleased to read that the Undergraduate Student Government Senate dissolved the fascist Tolerance and Equality Committee. This episode goes to illustrate the utter ineffectiveness of this year's liberal USG Senate. The senate has not even looked at continued support for the Tuition Challenge Grant (TCG), a state program that would give Penn State additional appropriations if it doesn't increase tuition more than 5 percent. During the 2002 USG election, 59 percent of the students voting on the referendum question regarding TCG voted to continue support for the program -- nearly twice as many people who voted to elect Rubina Javeri and Kris Ankarlo. Why do USG and the senate continue to ignore the clear mandate from the students on this issue?
