The people of Iraq need an end to the United States' Iraqi sanctions and the people of Iraq need an end to the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein. The Iraqi people need an end to their life of fear and poverty. No one should be forced to watch their own children be tortured and murdered.
The people of Iraqi shouldn't have to be guinea pigs to the testing of Saddam's biological weapons. No one should have to work in a hospital or school knowing that in the basement is a stockpile of biological weapons and the possibility of nuclear weapons.
For us as a nation to do nothing would be ignoring the cry of a friend. Make no mistake, Saddam is pursuing nuclear weapons and he will use them. Forcing ourselves (United States and its allies) to the orders of Saddam because he has a nuclear missile is a game of blackmail I don't want to get involved in.
If Saddam Hussein is not removed from power, we will be forced to play this game and any game with nuclear weapons is one not to be taken lightly.
Saddam must be removed, and the people of Iraq deserve to be involved in the free market. Saddam Hussein must be removed from power now, for he is not human, but the embodiment of evil. You can't reason with evil; you can't talk to evil; you can't reach peace with evil. Evil must be removed by force.
Personally, I find it offensive that certain professors were telling students that if they attend a peace rally in D.C., they would be exempt from a final. I wonder how many people would allow a professor who told students that if they went to a Republican rally, they would be exempt from a final. The hypocrisy is enough to make me sick.
