Column shows the left stooping to new lows
Daniel Moore's column ("Washington's homicidal maniac: Who is he?" -- Oct. 23) is irresponsible at best. I know, free speech yadda yadda yadda. Just watch what would happen if I were to deliver such a rant about a favorite son of the left. If the subject of the column was a commie-lib, there would be a massive outcry and public demonstrations designed to stifle free speech, spin the public opinion and destroy the rights of average Americans. The editors of The Daily Collegian should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such drivel to adorn their pages, and if these college students want to keep reminding us how mature and adult they are, columns like this certainly don't help. Comparing the President of the United States to the beltway sniper is very, very low, indeed. As defamatory as the column was, though, I for one am glad to see the left so desperate as to fall to pieces in writing. Now maybe reductio ad absurdum can work its magic on young and impressionable minds. William Ames
