What do you get when you combine over 100 high school volunteers, a historic granary in need of restoration and a nature preserve in the process of being purchased?
A haunted waltz through dark hallways and trails packed with fearsome goblins, spider webs, ghoulish dismembered body parts and skinned pigs' heads, of course.
The Haunted Granary on Mt. Nittany Rd. in Lemont will open its doors for the sixth time this year, and joining it will be the new Haunted Preserve on the 400 block of West Main Street in Boalsburg.
The events will run from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The cost is $5 for each location and free haunted Centre Area Trans
portation Authority buses will transport "victims" to and from each haunted location and to the downtown area.
Buses will leave from College Avenue and Allen Street for the Haunted Preserve and from Schlow Memorial Library for the Haunted Granary every 20 minutes from 6:40 to 9:40 p.m. The buses will return to those locations from the events every 20 minutes from 6:50 to 11:30 p.m. Extra donations will be taken on the buses.
There will be concession stands at both events and a live DJ at the preserve. WBUS-FM (93.7) is sponsoring both events, and will provide a remote broadcast from the preserve. Children under 7 should be accompanied by an adult.
