Letter to the Editor
Everyone within whole can claim Nittany Lion

When someone or something is part of a whole, it is viewed as being in the "whole." I see nothing wrong in any and every Penn Stater using the Nittany Lion as part of their logos. Individuals wear it on T-shirts anyway. So when a person wearing a PSU shirt speaks, is he or she representing everyone? Maybe, maybe not, it depends on how objective the listener is, not the speaker. The Lion is supposed to make us all feel as one. Surely a person can be a Penn Stater and also a Christian or Jew or member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community and its allies also.
