I would like to respond to Michael Cybulski's letter ("Find companionship beyond bars, parties," Sept. 30). He noted that he was told, "If you found her [or him] in a bar, you lose her [or him] to a bar."

Thirty-one years ago yesterday, a Penn State student went with her friend to a local bar, The Brewery. It was a Saturday night. A young man also went to the bar that night. He saw this beautiful woman sitting at the bar and he decided to introduce himself. They hit it off and started to date. Ten months later, they were married. This young Penn State couple became my parents, and they have been happily married ever since. So for all you single people out there, keep looking. You never know where you are going to meet that special someone, and yes, it may just happen to be a bar.
