I just wanted to comment about the student attendance in this week's football game. To all of the fans that stayed until the end of overtime, thanks for supporting and believing in our team.
For all of you who left by the end of the third quarter, I'd like to remind you that a football game actually consists of four quarters.
You should try to get a refund for your tickets, because obviously it wasn't worth your time or money to see a whole game. There was even one fan that left in the third quarter and said, "I can't believe I wasted $20 to watch Penn State lose for 3 quarters." (We won the fourth quarter, at least.)
While we were watching the fans leave early, my roommate said to me, "What's the worse that can happen if you stay the rest of the game? We lose, which we were doing anyway. But if you stay, you have the chance to witness a great comeback," (which happened). We came back from being down 22 points in the fourth quarter to tie Iowa, and took it to OT. We should have won the game, but some horrible calls by the referees screwed us over again.
If you come to the game, stay until the game is over; otherwise, don't even bother coming. You're just wasting a ticket. Next time, give it to someone who's a true fan, not a fair-weather fan.
