Letter to the Editor
Nonstudents in section were behaving badly

There has been a great outcry of alumni complaining about the actions of current students, and bringing shame to "dear old State." While some students may act inappropriately, there are alumni whose actions are far from perfect as well.

At the game against Iowa, a perfect example of this behavior displayed itself in the senior section. While watching the game, we heard a commotion a few rows behind us. A woman who appeared to be in her 50s was sitting among the standing students and vomiting in the stands, while her male companion just continued to watch the game. The alcohol was easily smelled and quite unpleasant.

One of our friends fetched a security guard, who to our dismay didn't make the drunk woman leave the stadium.

This situation angers us.

Had that been a student throwing up all over herself and other fans, he would have been removed from the stadium immediately.

How did this couple get in the student section when they were obviously not Penn State students?

After all the uproar about having to have a Penn State ID for access to the student section, this couple should not have even been there.

This is our fourth season, and we have never once seen a student throw up at a game. So, alumni, before you go complaining about the actions of the students, take a look at the actions of your own peers.
