Letter to the Editor
Focus on the positives of game vs. Nebraska

In response to Becky Cantor's Wednesday sports column, dealing with behavior at the Nebraska game: I would like to say that I took personal offense to the attack on West Virginia.

My boyfriend, a premed student, is from W.V., and through him, I have been introduced to several brilliant, polite, handsome young men, all of whom have a full set of teeth. There is no connection between a fan's inappropriate behavior and the state.

Drive 15 miles outside State College, if you want to see backwoods, rural central Pennsylvania for comparison.

Also, I would like to ask the reporters to stop focusing on the rude, inappropriate behavior of some Penn State fans. It's not a true representation of the entire student body.

There were moments that brought tears to my eyes during the football game last weekend as we united to show school pride.

Don't let the "12th man" go unrewarded. We played an active role in the win over Nebraska, cheering so loudly and scaring the pants of the 'Huskers. Stop focusing on the negative behaviors and giving attention where it isn't deserved.
