Today's University Park forecast
clearing out later After a weekend with a much-needed victory as well as some much-needed rain, the sun is ready to make a comeback for the next few days. Tempertaures will be a touch above normal for this time of the year, at least until later in the week, when a weak cold front is due in from the west. The front should bring some significant cloud cover and cooler conditions.

On this day in...1999

Remnants of Hurricane Floyd bring torrential rains to the eastern seaboard. Rainfall records were broken throughout the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast. States of emergency were declared in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware. Floyd had made landfall in North Carolina a day earlier and simply ravaged the east coast, costing millions of dollars in damage.
