Letter to the Editor
Support our leaders to save our freedoms

I came across a flier, "In the Spirit of Compassion and Peace," which was being passed around the campus for a freedom rally. To quote the flier: "In our name, the Bush administration ... not only attacked Afghanistan ... but arrogated to itself the right to rain down military force anywhere and anytime." Take a look around you, you are in America, you have the right to freedom and that is what the Bush administration is trying to protect. What, do you expect for the president to call you and each and every U.S. citizen to find out what you feel is the best action to this horrible violation that has been committed against our freedom? No!

I say, as Americans, we should not rally together to oppose our leadership, we should rally together to show our support. Do what it takes to stop the violation of our country and the freedom that it holds so dear. If defense of freedom is to be successful, that might mean people may die, but so be it. But it will be done with my total support and in my name. Every day of my life, I have woken up a free person and God help anyone who tries to take that away from me or any other American citizen.
