Professor set to talk about early version of 'The Great Gatsby' at Barnes & Noble

James L.W. West III will talk about his newly edited version of Trimalchio at Barnes & Noble, 365 Benner Pike, at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Trimalchio is an early version of The Great Gatsby that F. Scott Fitzgerald submitted for publication to his editor at Scribners in 1924.

He later rewrote this version to produce The Great Gatsby, the classic novel published in April 1925.

West, who is a professor in the English department at Penn State, will talk about the composition of the novel and the evolution of some of its most famous passages.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Barnes & Noble at 867-9330.
