For many, stargazing includes finding the planets in the evening sky, or watching the phases of the moon. Sci-fi flicks like Alien, Independence Day, and Signs all show the terrifying alien monsters that could exist on other planets. Throughout history, astronomers and scientists have pondered the mysteries of the cosmos. Early astronomers, such a Ptolemy, believed that the Earth was the center of the universe with all other celestial bodies revolving around it.
