Can't buy hand guns at K-Mart, Wal-Mart

In the event Gardner Raymond's complete lack of knowledge regarding guns, gun laws and gun crime wasn't painfully obvious, let me state the facts and let you decide. K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Sports Authority, Dicks and other similar stores do not sell handguns -- only sporting long guns.

To apply to purchase a gun, you must be over the age of 18. You must then be approved by the National Instant Check System (NICS) before being allowed the sale. Note that if you are under indictment, a convicted felon, or ever had a history of any domestic violence, it is a crime -- a felony -- to even attempt to buy a gun. The very intent of such a person to buy a weapon at a gun show is also a federal felony.

Gun specialty shops sell handguns to approved NICS purchasers over the age of 21. Even if there were such a thing as a .45 Magnum, nobody under 21 could buy one anywhere -- let alone K-Mart, which does not carry handguns. Also, I should note that gun crime in the UK has increased drastically since making guns illegal.

US. murder has been -- and always will be -- a human problem, not a gun problem.
