A heavily intoxicated man allegedly attempted to break into an apartment occupied by a female yesterday morning.

According to police, Hugo Prera-Barrios, 21, of Falls Church, Va., first tried entering through the front door. When he discovered it was locked, he walked around back and tore the screen off a rear window. As Prera-Barrios was entering through the window, he was pushed out by the victim's boyfriend.

Prera-Barrios was arrigned before District Justice Daniel Hoffman. Bail was set at $2,500, which the defendant could not post.

Neither the victim or her boyfriend knew Prera-Barrios before the incident. He is a non-student.
