FBI investigating alleged 4th Fest Web site hacking

The FBI is investigating an electronic break-in on the 4th Fest Web site, according to Penn State Police Services.

Taking the moniker of al-Jazeera, an Arab television station, hackers removed 4th Fest information and made references to Osama bin Laden and Adolf Hitler.

The altered site also contained photos from bin Laden's videotapes, epithets directed at Jews, profane threats and a photo of a target transposed over an image of the White House.

In another section, the hackers pretended to be bin Laden himself.

They claimed he is still alive and warm in a cave with the help of the drug Ecstasy.

The Web site is maintained by Centre of the Web, 300 Science Park Road.

Owner Terry Beard said the messages were detected and deleted once.

Shortly after, the hackers reposted their material.

Beard said the hackers did serious damage to his systems and it will take extensive work to repair them.
