In response to letters recently published about the position of Palestine in the Middle East, I think we are forgetting that everyone should have the right to sit down on a bus or go to a restaurant without the constant threat of being murdered by a maniac with a bomb.
On Sept. 11, we all came together as a country and proclaimed how horrible terrorism is. Those people in the towers of World Trade Center, in the Pentagon and on those commercial airliners never stated that they believed that what our government was doing was right in all circumstances, but they were used as pawns to hurt a country. This is exactly what is going on in the Middle East.
When those extremists walk into public places, they never take into consideration the individuals present; rather they see them as weapons that can be used to deliver a message.
How can we say we are fighting a war against terrorism when there is news of a new terrorist attack in Israel every day and we do nothing to stop it?
I suggest that the people that feel that Palestinians are justified in their terrorist activity live in a state of constant fear, because the terrorist that plan actions against this country will not take into account that you might not agree with our government the next time you are flying in a plane or visiting a major city.
