Fans of country music are ignored in Collegian

I am appalled at the Collegian's serious lack of coverage on a major concert this weekend. Kenny Chesney, along with Phil Vassar, Sara Evans and Caroline Dawn Johnson rocked a packed Bryce Jordan Center this Saturday, putting on an absolutely amazing performance.

As I flipped through the numerous articles covering Moving On, which was great, I was upset to see that no articles were written giving these excellent country performers the recognition they deserve. There were thousands of fans in attendance, and I have a hard time understanding why this very famous and distinguished country singer doesn't even get the recognition of an article, while Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Dave Matthews and other "pop-style" acts receive larger pieces.

I feel that its only fair to give these country performers, along with other musical acts, reviews and recognition in the paper. Fans have a right to read about their favorite singers, and I find it disappointing that this concert was overlooked because country music doesn't fit into the "mainstream" point of view that the Collegian likes to cover.
