The fourth annual A Taste of India food festival will take place at noon tomorrow at the State College Area High School, 650 Westerly Parkway.
The home-cooked meal is prepared by about 60 community volunteers and features foods that cannot be found at local restaurants. All of the proceeds, which have been as high as $3,000 in the past, go to support grassroots development projects in impoverished Indian villages.
Before the money is donated, representatives visit and profile the villages where money will be sent. Projects primarily target marginalized communities, women and children.
Tickets cost $9 for Penn State students, $12 for non-students and $6 for children between the ages of 5 and 10.
Tickets are available at Webster's Bookstore Café, 128 South Allen St., the Krishan Indian Grocery Store, 230A W. College Ave., India Pavilion Exotic Indian Cuisine, 222 E. Calder Way, and Shalimar Indian Restaurant, 120 E. Beaver Ave.
