Gwar fills Crowbar with unique metal

On Tuesday, State College will get a unique musical experience.

For the fourth time in the past ten years, Gwar will perform at the Crowbar, 420 E. College Ave., with their sardonically grotesque brand of heavy metal.

The band, formed in 1987, attaches to itself a complex mythos involving graphically rendered personae of the band members.

Their associated image has led to the publication of Gwar comic books as well as two Gwar films.

Gwar's creative theatricality has given birth to a rampant cult following.

The show is expected to sellout, as Gwar has sold out in its previous appearances at the Crowbar.

Tickets will be $15 in advance and $17 on the day of the show.
