Letter to the Editor
Club's fliers advocated that men should lead

What is apparently the first of many fliers by the Independent Women's Club was placed in student mailboxes. While I found certain articles pertaining to fun dating locations or overall trends in dating and "hooking up" to be interesting, most of the flyer was an exercise in stupidity. The dispelling of "myths" about rape on campus were too disgusting for me to elaborate on.

However, what cannot go unmentioned was an especially mind-numbing article by Brianne Bell which stated that "Ladies should be proud of the femininity and their God-given role as women to serve others." Ms. Bell also tells us that "Men are supposed to be the leaders of relationships, households and government." It is one thing for Ms. Bell to advocate a life of being barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen for herself. It is quite another for her to insinuate that it should be expected of all women.

Perhaps since I am a man and therefore "superior" to her, she'll listen when I tell her to view herself and all women as equal to men.
