Before I begin, I want to establish the fact that I am not saying that the concert or the performance was bad. I am saying, however, that it was a disappointment, and I think that the other 10 percent of the people there who had actually seen George Clinton & the P-Funk All-Stars in something other than their guest appearance in PCU will agree with me.
While I am fully aware that the concert was a free show, I still would like a refund -- in the form of time. Unless the P-Funk Mothership is capable of time travel, I will never have those two hours of my life back. And yes, I said two hours, not three. I was one of the several attendees who arrived late due to the new episode of The Simpsons and was relieved that I did so. I walked into Rec Hall an hour late, praying I didn't miss "Atomic Dog" or "Give Up The Funk."
Luckily I hadn't, as Clinton had yet to take the stage. I was as fired up as anyone when he made his grand entrance, but was steadily disappointed as the show progressed. Needless to say, I wasn't apart of the "huge crowd of statisfied students" who left Rec Hall. I was instead apart of the moderate-sized crowd wondering, "What the funk just happened? Did they really not play 'Atomic Dog?' "
