Injured man released from Altoona Hospital

A man who sustained serious injuries after falling from an apartment window over the weekend was discharged from Altoona Hospital yesterday, said a hospital official.

Francis Libertore, 21, was injured early Saturday morning after he fell about 25 feet from a first floor apartment window over a parking garage at Meridian Apartments, 747 E. Beaver Ave., said the State College Police Department. Sgt. John Gardner, who is leading the investigation, said Libertore, a former student at Penn State York, fell on his face shattering several bones.

Meridian realtors declined to comment on the incident. The fall remains under investigation, police said.
