With running shoes on their feet and snow flurries in the air, participants in the third annual Coaches vs. Cancer 5k Run/Walk took to the streets Saturday morning to help cancer sufferers.

A series of weekend events set the tone for the remaining days of Pride Week, which will include a coffee shop concert, speakers and the annual Unity Prom.

Each of the Undergraduate Student Government presidential candidates outlined platform goals during their campaigns, and students who voted in the elections outlined their own views and concerns for the upcoming year.

People wearing burlap bags, newspapers, deerskin and milk carton costumes danced around Heritage Hall Saturday at the Green Design Conference's first Beaux Arts Ball.

Trends are starting to become disturbing for the Penn State baseball team.

In the end, the injuries and illnesses that limited the practice quality the past few weeks caught up with the Penn State men's gymnastics team.

The performance of the Penn State women's gymnastics team at Saturday's Northeast Regional Championship followed suit with the rest of its season — a season filled with injury and misfortune.

In the 2000 Olympic Games, Elise Ray captained the U.S. women's gymnastics team, leading it to a fourth place finish, and taking 13th in the all-around and eighth on the beam. For many, it seemed as though Ray had reached the pinnacle of her career, and could do no more.

After dropping a pair of games to No. 24 Minnesota because of the lack of clutch hitting, the Penn State softball team bounced back to beat Wisconsin twice on the power of clutch hits.

When your team is in the midst of a losing streak and you are in desperate need of conference victories, who are you gonna call? Your ace.

On the same day that Penn State honored their seniors Jose Quinones and Jason Hawkins, the men's volleyball team clinched their 14th EIVA conference title.


The drought has ended. Following a season and a half of ineptitude in the Big Ten, the Penn State men's tennis team (8-10 1-5) finally came away with a win and they did it in dramatic fashion.

The chances were there, but the Penn State women's tennis team just couldn't cash in.

Post-game salsa music has never been so sweet.

The Penn State men's lacrosse team made history on Saturday in Geneva, N.Y., as it defeated Hobart on the road for the first time since 1968.

Early adversity from any source can push a young team to its limits. For the Penn State women's track and field team, the adversity pushed it together toward success.


The national champion ACHA Div. I Penn State Icers held their 26th annual awards banquet on Saturday. It was one last chance to relive this season glory and bid the seniors farewell.

Every time Dave Matthews Band comes to State College, people come in droves to see what has become one of the biggest bands around do what it does best, perform live. This time around, however, the show just didn't quench the thirst for a good rock concert.

Rec Hall is lucky to still have a roof this morning.
