A Penn State student suffered serious injuries Friday night when he fell 20 feet to the ground from his apartment complex, the State College Police Department said.

Sgt. John Gardner said the student fell from his apartment at Meridian Apartments, 747 E. College Ave. He said the student landed on his face, shattering several bones.

He was taken to Altoona Hospital that night for treatment and will remain there for some time, Gardner said. The investigation is continuing.
