The conversation about race must also be a conversation about gender, Marcia Gillespie, Ms. magazine editor-in-chief, said in her keynote address last night.

Stephanie Yau, the 23-year-old Penn State graduate student who died Nov. 4, died as a result of MDMA toxicity, according to a coroner's report released yesterday. Although it was ruled an accident, the report found that her death was the result of the substance commonly known as Ecstasy.

It has been more than two and a half months since the start of the regular season for the Penn State men's volleyball team, and a final decision still has not been reached regarding senior John Mills' eligibility.

Now is the time to make tables turn, but the Penn State women's lacrosse team better catch fire, or it's going to get burned.

For their home opener, and first Big Ten showdown, the Nittany Lions will be facing a Purdue team that also struggled early on while mired on the road before turning things around heading into conference play.

The Lions (12-13) are heading north this weekend to open the Big Ten portion of their schedule against conference foes Michigan (21-6) and Michigan State (11-18). Penn State will take on the Wolverines at 3 p.m. today and at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Ann Arbor, then travel to East Lansing to play the Spartans in a doubleheader Sunday at 1 p.m.

After suffering two consecutive 7-0 loses to top Big Ten teams Ohio State and most recently Minnesota the team is ready to corner its prey and capture its first Big Ten win.

The Ruggers' opponents at the Championships are Virginia Tech, Navy and Princeton.

After steam-rolling over Delaware 54-3 last Saturday, the Lady Ruggers now face tougher competition at the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union (MARFU) Final Fours at Princeton University in New Jersey.

This weekend could have been a showdown with first place on the line, but things do not always work out as planned.

After a successful third place finish at the IC4A Championships in a season marred by tragedy, the men's track and field team is ready to start fresh with the outdoor season.

My Opinion: Chris Korman

ARTS

The project, called Historicity, is a junction between tale and truth that tells a narrative behind the 51 historical markers around Penn State.

Penn State students drink smart. Cubby Bair, teacher of the ACE Bartending classes, shows them how.

This weekend, No Refund Theatre will juxtapose the concrete with the abstract by performing a play about love and friendship alongside two plays that explore the conceptual ideas of the Dada movement.

I made the choice to eat nothing but breakfast cereal, skim milk and water for a full seven-day week. Cereal for breakfast, lunch, dinner and for snacks. It's a bold move but it's an important first step if others are to follow; I need to show everyone that it's okay to pursue your dreams.

There has been a serious debate recently about whether the Ten Commandments belong in public schools and/or federal buildings. Opponents say it's an unconstitutional mix of church and state.

Before Championship Vinyl was in Chicago, few realize that it was originally located in London in Nick Hornby's 1995 novel.

In Marshall's self-titled album the artist successfully blends country with a little bit of pop.

Only two words can describe this year's Oscars: god awful. They were god-awful long, god-awful boring and had god-awful fashion.

Volunteers are needed to help with an exhibit at the Robeson Gallery in the HUB-Robeson Center that is scheduled to open in April.

Mushroomhead, the eight-legged metal outfit, will barrel into the Crowbar, 420 W. College Ave., on Monday along with Dog Fashion Disco, Five Pointe O and Stept On.
