Classes will not alter students' diversity views
A lot of us are believing lies. As a student of this college I am insulted by the lack of knowledge that some students have that "This country was built on the blood, sweat and tears of African slaves." Are you serious? Do you know how many other people put their blood, sweat and tears into making this country what it is today? The students of this college are all concerned about diversity. But yet we constantly separate ourselves by ethnic backgrouds. How ironic. If these diversity classes are to make us better people then that's a fine idea, but just because we are forced to take these classes is not going to change the opinions of some students. What is that class accomplishing then? I'm not trying to be ignorant because I feel these classes will not encourage better diversity and understanding. I'm being realistic, if people don't appreciate other ethnic groups by now then they never will. And a class won't make that happen. I feel that this class issue is more about race than ethnicity.
