Eateries should open since there is no break
While I disagree that the university should offer a day off simply because a majority of its students and faculty participate in Easter events, I do think the university should make up its mind about Easter. Although for social reasons the university cannot close its doors because of Easter, just like it can't close its doors for Christmas (it's called "winter break" or "intersession" for a reason), it has decided to close down certain functions. For example: the eatery store in the HUB will not be open the weekend of Easter. Many cafes and commons will be closed or will be changing their hours because of Easter. Professors are canceling classes because of what else: Easter. It's all or nothing, guys. Either close everything down and give the students (and you lucky faculty) a day off because of Easter or whatever politically correct reason you can come up with. Or keep everything open and function as normal. Don't rob me of weekend activities and pleasures without expecting to give me something in its place. Elisha Marshall
