Rick Burchfield's column in yesterday's Daily Collegian really made a great point.

I am one of those few proud students who actually attend the Lady Lion games. The Lady Lions are as good as any team there is in the nation. That's why they were able to play with the University of Connecticut and give the Huskies the hardest time of any team in the tournament. We have the nation's leading scorer in Kelly Mazzante, who has this uncanny ability to electrify the crowd and hit threes from halfway to Cleveland. You have Rashana Barnes, who never gives up down low, even when she's facing people who are so much bigger than she is. Then there's the freshmen guard tandem, who showed the nation on Saturday why they deserve to wear the Lady Lion uniforms.

On March 15th and 17th, you can bet that I was there at The Bryce Jordan Center, and not only was I there, but I was in the front row cheering on our team.

To put it plainly, I'm tired of having the Lady Lions get no respect. This team is as good as anybody out there, and come next year you can bet that this team is going to be making a run at the Final Four. Before you write it off as a sport that's only there because of Title IX, take a deeper look at the Lady Lions, and you'll see a basketball team that makes me want to go the Jordan Center on a snowy and cold Thursday night to watch them.

They're exciting and they're talented, and they deserve the respect of every single Penn State student that sets foot in this university.

For only a dollar per game for tickets, I think you can all afford to go watch some quality basketball.
