A female student reported she was indecently harassed Monday night at the Intramural Building while walking on the indoor track, Penn State Police Services said.
The suspect, who has been identified, might or might not be a student, Supervisor Wayne Weaver said.
Charges against the suspect have not yet been filed. Weaver said the victim must be contacted before any charges are placed on the suspect.
The incident occurred at about 10:40 p.m. Monday while the victim was walking on the track at the IM Building. A man unknown to the victim ran by her and grabbed her buttocks, police said. The suspect then laughed and continued running, Weaver said. The victim immediately reported the incident to police.
There were two witnesses to the incident, one of who reported the license plate number of the suspect's vehicle as the suspect left the parking lot.
The victim suffered no injury but was frightened by the incident, Weaver said.
Police are continuing the investigation and plan to contact the victim. The investigation is being lead by Officer Raymond Joseph Trexler.
