Nuclear arms needed for war in Middle East
Mr. Still seems to think he knows better than the Department of Defense. Apparently, he seems to think he knows what's best for all of humanity. Mike directly suggested that if the United States was to start producing specialized low-yield nuclear weapons, that other rogue nations would be forced to start producing weapons of mass destruction, just to counter us. First of all, the United States, as well as several other modern countries, already possesses stockpiles of nuclear weapons. I don't know why producing low-yield bunker-busters would affect international policy, considering this. Furthermore, what makes you think that rogue nations such as Iraq, who are bent on the total destruction of Israel and the West, would voluntarily not produce and/or use nuclear weapons, just because we were not making a few more? Mike seems to have missed the whole point of these bunker-busters--to give us the ability to destroy deep underground laboratories and stockpiles of rogue nations which seek to produce nuclear weapons. Leaders of these countries have openly stated that if any of them were to acquire nukes, that they should use them on Israel immediately. We have been provoked! Mr. Still also suggested that it would be acceptable for Iran, Iraq, or North Korea to pre-emptively strike the United States with nuclear weapons! Unfortunately, Mike doesn't seem to be able to distinguish our use of nuclear weapons--to destroy their nuclear weapons--to these rogue states using them who wish to inflict as many civilian casualties as possible. Mike Still, you may fear that Mr. Bush does not sufficiently fear the world's nuclear situation, but I fear that he may be the only one who does. David Livingston
