Penn State to send off Lady Lions team today

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is holding a send-off for the Lady Lion basketball team as they depart for the Sweet Sixteen in Milwaukee.

Penn State fans are encouraged to join the Pep Band, the Nittany Lion and cheeleaders today at 9:30 a.m. in The Bryce Jordan Center's South Parking Lot.

The No. 4 Lady Lions face No. 1 and undefeated Connecticut on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the U.S. Cellular Arena in the NCAA Mideast Regional Semifinals in Milwaukee.

ESPN will televise the game and the winner of the Penn State-Connectiuct game will face the winner of the Kansas State-Old Dominion contest.

The winners will play Monday evening for a chance to advance to the Final Four.

Penn State has won 12 of its last 15 games, and is the only Big Ten school remaining in the women's baskeball championships.
