Today's University Park forecast
precipation After a few breaks of sun, clouds will be on the increase again today with a chance of a late-day shower. With temperatures heading toward the freezing mark in the evening, precipiation could start as a period of sleet and freezing rain before changing to all rain by Wednesday morning. Plain liquid rain will continue through Wednesday, however a return to cold temperatures and snow showers look to invade the region late into the week and into the weekend.

Highlight

Winter also picked Anchorage, Alaska for one last hurrah. The town received over 25 in. of snow in 24 hrs. this past weekend, which is a new, one-day snowfall record. Although Anchorage is in Alaska, its location near the ocean and surrounded by mountains renders heavy snowfall unfavorable in the downtown area. The west side of town received even more snow, coming in with three feet of as their storm total.
