Pot has nothing to do with terrorist attacks
After Reading Eric Swankoski's letter Friday, it was obvious to be devoid of any thought, just filled with the mindless rhetoric you will find in places like another wonderful "golden fleece" program: DARE. Its rampant paranoia shown by people like him that have moved hemp from a major crop in this country to being listed as a controlled substance even though it has no psychotropic qualities. He also asserts that pot is much worse for you than drugs or alcohol. All he has to do is read the pamphlet the university sends out every year listing "drugs" and their effects. If you notice, all listed, including tobacco and alcohol can kill you on an overdose -- except pot. He also says that by legalizing pot it would be funding terrorism worldwide, because the only place to get pot is Columbia. Obviously he has overlooked the fact that if it were to be legal, it would be grown in this country and be a great source of income. That commercial that states "by buying drugs you are funding terrorism" is a misnomer; what they don't tell you is "by paying your income taxes you are funding terrorism." Bin Laden was actually on the payroll of the United States as a "freedom fighter" to fight "soviet oppression;" that's where he received much of training and weapons. Its time for the United States to stop wasting taxpayer money on this silly failure called "the war on drugs" and start putting the money to good use. Tyler Britten
