Penn State women's lacrosse player Katie Jeschke earned American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week honors, the league office announced.
The sophomore attacker scored scored two goals in the first half and two in the second, which were back-to-back tallies less than a minute apart. The sophomore also recorded two assists, including notching her second on the game-winning goal with 26 seconds left to play in the contest. For the season, Jeschke leads the team and the conference with nine points and six goals through two games while ranking second in assists with three.
The No. 12 Nittany Lions open up their home season on Friday, March 15 when they face eighth-ranked Virginia. The Cavaliers are 4-1 overall and are coming off an upset win of sixth-ranked Maryland. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. at Bigler Field on the University Park campus. Penn State then takes on William & Mary (1-3) on Sunday, March 17 beginning at noon.
