In a meeting yesterday in Washington, D.C., the Penn State Board of Trustees focused on health technology and research. After hearing a report from Penn State President Graham Spanier, the trustees heard reports on the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health.
It was the board's first meeting ever held outside of Pennsylvania.
Last night, trustees attended a reception at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, where they were able to meet legislators and representatives from "key agencies" that work with Penn State.
Today the trustees will decide room and board rates for the 2002-2003 academic year. They will also hear reports on major campus construction projects.
