Today's University Park forecast
mostly sunny Sunshine will return to Central Pennsylvania today as the slow moving storm that caused yesterday to be rather dreary has finally moved out to sea. Temperatures should moderate into the lower 60s as southwest winds draw warm air into the region. The dramatic warm up will continue on Friday as temperatures soar to near record levels. A cold front will slowly cross Pennsylvania late in the day Friday and into Saturday bringing slightly cooler temperatures and the chance of rain. Sunshine and drier air will return on Sunday.

Highlight

The warmup that is expected later this week is reminiscent of one that occured March 13-16 , 1990. During that period four consecutive daily record high temperatures were set in State College. This warmup did not just affect our area, as 283 record highs were broken accross the central and eastern U.S. between March 11-15 of that year.
