Six months after Sept. 11, the number of students interested in learning about Islamic culture and the Arabic language appear to have increased.

The dreaded trek to the parking lot will probably be even longer for many student drivers next semester. An estimated 300 to 400 student parking spaces from Lot 80 will be moved to a different, likely farther-away location next fall, said Doug Holmes, assistant director for parking.

Flyers advertising different cable options were mailed to some on-campus students a few weeks ago, raising the question of whether they would even be able to take advantage of the offer.

Attention Kmart shoppers: The blue light special will no longer be in State College.

The Third Annual S.T.A.R.T. Conference will meet at Penn State on Saturday, March 23. This year's theme is "One Puzzle, Many Pieces."

Penn State's Board of Trustees meets in Washington, D.C., today and tomorrow, a change from its usual March meeting location. The board will decide room and board rates for the 2002-2003 academic year and hear reports on campus construction projects.

It's college wrestling's equivalent to a play-in game. One last shot to get to the NCAA tournament.

With multiple years of international experience, medals in junior world cups, a German national championship and a bronze medal from the Sydney Olympics, Alex Weber brings a lot to the table for the Penn State fencing team.

Sixty minutes of heart and a game-winning goal with 26 seconds left can catapult a team into a season of greatness.

Often warriors are associated with ancient times, but there is a warrior in our midst right here in State College, and her name is Rashana Barnes.

It's March Madness time, baby. Today at 12:20 the first round of the 2002 NCAA Tournament will get underway.

In late November, the Penn State wrestling team linked six wrestlers to National Letters of Intent, and now four months later, four have won state championships.

Intense, driven, and goal-oriented would all accurately describe the State College Area High School wrestling team that finished in second place in the PIAA State Wrestling Championships in Hershey.

arts

The Osbourne household is anything but typical. There are enough small, furry animals running around to create the illusion that the show takes place in Doctor Dolittle's house. Also, a large sculpture of the Eiffel Tower rests in the middle of the dinner table.

Staging a humorous humility two weeks ago on the Tonight Show, Chris Isaak joked about his low summit in rock 'n' roll's mountain range.

The latest update of H.G. Wells' sci-fi standard starts as a fast paced, visually stunning film but quickly unravels into just another lackluster blockbuster.

Sonically the Chemical Brother's new album, Come With Us, breaks down some sound barriers, but artistically the album does little more than repeat past recordings.

If there was an episode of Ren and Stimpy where Ren joined the rave scene and Stimpy decided to become an emcee, the Gorillaz is surely what would have resulted.

In 40 Days and 40 Nights, Josh Hartnett plays Matt Sullivan, a love-struck twenty-something who spends his days working at a trendy dot-com company and his nights chasing women.
