The Israeli Consul General to the Midatlantic region, Giora Becher, will speak at 7:30 tonight in the Kern Auditorium. He will address the situation in the Middle East.
Becher was born in 1950 in Israel, where he lived for most of his life. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and political science from Tel Aviv University and a master's degree in political science from Haifa University.
Before his current position, Becher served in the Israeli embassies in the Dominican Republic and Argentina. He was also the Israeli Consul to Bombay, India.
Becher serves as Consul General to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Delaware, Kentucky, West Virginia and southern New Jersey.
After the speech, attendees are invited to attend a dessert reception and to view "Images From Our Heritage: An Exhibit of Penn State Students' Experiences in Israel" in the Kern Auditorium.
