Absentees not a factor in calendar scheduling
It is not our professor's prerogatives to decide that absenteeism is an issue when considering the calendar change. Penn State students are paying good money (and more than good money next year.) to come to this university to study, learn and mature. I personally disagree with skipping classes, but the people who don't mind wasting the money for their education have to right to do so. If a student chooses to skip a class, then the professor should not have to feel bad about giving the student a failing grade on a quiz or refusing to help them make up work. We're all here to start becoming adults. And being adults means making decisions and dealing with the consequences. I feel that the ability to make choices is very important to becoming a mature, well-rounded individual. And when we're paying to make our own decisions about our education, then the hard work that we do should be enough to warrant a break, even if a few people will make a bad decision. Andy Veres
