Former Penn State running backs Omar Easy and Eric McCoo and cornerback Bruce Branch have been invited to the National Football League's Scouting Combine this weekend at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.
Easy was the Lions' third-leading rusher last season, with 196 yards on 45 carries and one touchdown. He also caught nine passes for 70 yards. Easy was a former Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year at Everett (Mass.) H.S. He graduated in December with a degree in journalism.
McCoo led Penn State in scoring this season with 54 points and in touchdowns with six. He was the second-leading rusher with 265 yards on 82 carries, and finished with 2,518 career yards, ninth-best all-time. He is on schedule to graduate in May with a degree in recreation in park management.
A two-year starter at corner, Branch led the team with 13 pass break-ups and was tied for the team lead with two interceptions and two forced fumbles. He owns school punt return records for game, career and season returns, career return yardage, and punt return touchdowns. Branch graduated in December with a degree in kinesiology.
