Women did not cause breakdown of society
Once again, Mr. Blase offers his bleak insight into the negative aspects of modern feminism. In two small paragraphs he directly ties the increase in children going to daycare (in his opinion, a result of modern feminism) with high suicide rates among girls and boys, high rates of sex among youth, and high incidence of sexually transmitted diseases. First, more children go to daycare today than any other time because standards of living are high and two parents must now work in order to provide themselves with the "American dream" of economic independence. Second, according to teenagesuicide.com, the number one cause of teenage suicide is mental illness. Can parents prevent this? Third, the media and commercial enterprises in the United States constantly bombard teenagers with sexual images targeted for this specific age group. Is it surprising that parents feel that they have little control over what their children experience or see as far as sex? Fourth, two ways of preventing sexual diseases among youth are possible: abstinence and condoms. Instead of bashing feminists, Mr. Blase should examine further the social ailments he mentions in our society and provide plausible solutions instead of implausible lamentations.
