Letter to the Editor
Speaker meeting was advertised extensively

I am writing in response to the comments made by Andy Nagypal concerning publicity for the Distinguished Speakers Series Brainstorming Session held Wednesday night. He asserts that the event should have been better publicized, owing to the fact that such a large allocation of Student Activity Fee monies go toward the Distinguished Speakers Series. He goes on to say it's a shame that more students were not present. While I agree with this sentiment, it most certainly is not due to a lack in advertising.

More than 500 student organization presidents were e-mailed twice about the event. Flyers were posted around campus in major classroom buildings, dorms and commons. An ad ran three times in the UPAC "What's Going On" page. An even larger quarter-page ad ran in the Collegian on Tuesday. A public service announcement was broadcast on WKPS.

It is also important to note that about 30 students were present for the Brainstorming Session. This has been the average number of students present at every brainstorming session for the past three years.
