Police get a bad rap which is undeserved

I would like to thank Adam Tarosky for his column "Not all police are out to 'get' students."

As the daughter of a police officer in the Ferguson Township Police Department, I am frustrated almost daily at what I read or hear about the views of some students on this campus about the police. Yes, it is an inconvenience to have your party busted, to be stopped on your way home from a bar, or to have your riot dismantled, but like the story in Adam's article about the girl's 21st birthday: they just want to make sure you're safe.

These men put their lives on the line daily for our protection and I don't think they get the credit they deserve sometimes. Most of the police officers I know in this area are caring individuals and only want to keep our town happy and safe. It's nice to know that other students recognize their efforts and hold them in a positive light.
