Every April during Pride Week, Allies runs an advertisement in The Daily Collegian with a list of individuals and groups who support the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people.

For the first time in the ad's history, parties who wish to appear on that list can sign up online at www.personal.psu.edu/clubs/Allies/sign-ad.html.

Only Penn State students, faculty, staff and organizations can register using this method. Those who sign the ad are adhering to its mission statement.

On the Web site, the mission is stated as: "We, the undersigned are pledged to break the silence and end the discrimination aimed at our family, friends or ourselves based on sexual or gender orientation. We respect the basic human rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered individuals unequivocally."

Those individuals who are not affiliated with the university but still want to sign the ad, can do so by sending their name, e-mail address or valid telephone number and signature on a piece of paper to Allies, The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA 16802.

People who choose to use this method must indicate that they are giving Allies permission to publish their names (or group or business names) in the ad.
