What's your most embarassing purchase?

When asked what our most embarrassing purchases are, it's a difficult question to answer because a bunch of things readily come to mind: a horrible CD, outdated clothes, drugs, or even a personal product for yourself or a close friend.

Still though, these brave Penn Staters fessed up their secrets so we can all have a laugh while remembering some of the dumb things we've purchased and weren't proud of.

"My most embarrassing purchase is probably my Abba CD. It was a couple years ago. I was watching this movie and it had some Abba songs to it." -- Lauren Smith (junior-animal bio-science)

"I don't like to look like everyone else out there so I buy unique and different objects. If people look at me funny, then that's their problem, not mine. I'm just doing my own thing. One of my favorite purchases is my hat. I get a lot of comments on that." -- Andrew Miller (sophomore-recreation & park management)

"I had to buy these little coochie running shorts for cross country and track in high school. That was kind of embarrassing. For the first year, I felt like an idiot every time but I got used to it by sophomore year." -- Andrew Simonelli (sophomore-public relations)

"One time I bought a Wayne Newton CD and I told the clerk it was for my mom. I still have the CD and listen to it every once in a great while." -- Adam Cave (senior-computer science)

-- -- --

"The weirdest thing I bought probably would have be my Ben Franklin bobble head doll. You know, those things where you press the spring-based head down and it goes back and forth. It kind of looks demonic, scary and funny -- I stare at it every day. I just bought it last weekend." -- Andrew Pope (senior-telecommunications)

-- -- --

"My most embarrassing purchase is definitely something for a bachelorette party. I was in charge of buying sex toys for us to give to the bride-to-be. We bought her a vibrator and edible underwear." -- Christine Chin-Sang (junior-secondary education)

-- -- --

"The most embarrassing thing I bought was a Penn State Barbie Doll. It was for my cousin." -- Wilfredo Bravo (sophomore-electrical engineering)

-- -- --

"My most embarrassing purchase was adult diapers. The purpose was for initiation of the freshmen on the women's basketball team. However, the person at the counter really thought I was buying adult diapers. And I worked there too!" -- Tiffany Brown (sophomore-marketing)
