Consort to perform classical, baroque

The King's Consort, a period-instrument orchestra founded and directed by Robert King, will perform 18th century classical music on 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Schwab Auditorium as part of the Center for Performing Arts.

The consort, based in England, has been performing classical and baroque pieces for 21 years. The concert will feature a variety of composers, including Handel, Bach, Telemann, Purcell and Vivaldi.

Artistic Viewpoints -- an informal discussion with artists and experts -- will take place one hour before the show and is free to all ticket holders.

Section one tickets are $22 for general audience members, $18 for students, $8 for Penn State University Park students and $11 for children under 12. Section two tickets are $18 for the general audience, $14 for students, $4 for University Park students and $8 for children.
