Today's University Park forecast
partly cloudy The storm system that brought rain to the area late yesterday will move off to the northeast. As a result, temperatures will remain steady or slowly fall throughout the day with the passage of a cold front early this morning. Behind this system, lingering clouds and snow showers will contiune through Friday. High pressure in the southeast will work it’s way in to provide more sunshine on Saturday. The next next storm system will develop over the Great Lakes and will affect the region by late in the day Sunday.

Highlight

Parts of northern Wisconsin were buried under six to ten inches of heavy snow Tuesday night. A low pressure system tracking though the region produced rain out ahead of it, but snow developed in the wake of the storm as it pulled away. The weight of the snow caused power outages as trees had trouble holding the heavy snow. Trees that had fallen were also responsible for road closures.
